Who This Is For
Home visits are for patients who are truly house-bound and cannot safely come to the surgery. Please consider whether a face-to-face appointment at the practice might be more appropriate and safer, where possible.
How to Request a Visit
To request a home visit:
- Please contact the surgery (preferably via the online consulting platform) before 10:00 am on the day you need the visit.
- Give us as much information as you can about your symptoms and situation so that our clinical team can prioritise and plan visits effectively.
- Make sure we have a current contact telephone number so the doctor can call you if needed.
Assessment and Timing
Our doctor will usually contact you by phone first to assess your condition and discuss whether a home visit is appropriate. Some visits may take place in the afternoon depending on clinical urgency and our visiting schedule.
Babies & Young Children
Babies with a fever (high temperature) can usually be brought safely to the surgery, where we can see them urgently if needed.
Other Home-Based Care
You may also be eligible for visits from other community health professionals:
- A community nurse if your GP refers you
- A health visitor if you have recently had a baby or have a child under five years old
