We are now well into vaccinating patients in Cohort 4 (all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals).
We continue to receive regular supplies of vaccine though often at short notice. If you are in this cohort of patients, you will receive an appointment for vaccination at your local GP surgery very soon.
Once we have completed vaccinating Cohort 4 (we hope within another week), we will move onto the following groups of patients in order of priority.
- all those 65 years of age and over
- all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality
- all those 60 years of age and over
- all those 55 years of age and over
- all those 50 years of age and over
Patients who wish to be immunised at their own GP surgeries can cancel appointments made through other NHS organisations without prejudicing their eligibility to be vaccinated at their local GP surgery.
Mass vaccination centres and are not always able to inform GP surgeries of which patients they have invited for vaccination or which patients they have immunised so GP patient records cannot be updated as reliably as we would want. Patients may receive multiple invitations as a result.
We would ask that patients don’t call The Practice to ask about when they will receive their vaccinations and respect that GP surgeries are bound by national guidance, from NHS England and the Joint Committee on Vaccinations, who have decided on the prioritisation of certain groups for the vaccination program
